40 Families; More Signing Up

Deep in Germany, Torah and yiddishkeit are aflame in the city of Offenbach. The city is home to over 500,000 residents including 2000+ Jews. 40 families are proudly frum, under the auspices of Rabbi Mendel Gurevitch and his esteemed wife. 100 more families are currently gravitating towards Torah and tahara.

Harav Gurevitch runs a series of shiurim for the kehilla in Offenbach, but the community’s future depends on the building of a new mikva. In addition to dozens of local families, thousands in neighboring cities—Dormstat, Wiesbaden, Kashel, Pulda, Marburg, Gießen, Hanau, Limberg and more—are eager to hear and learn about mikva and family purity.

Even after repeat persecution and genocide, Jews in Germany show to be miraculously resilient. The arrival of thousands of Russian Jews following the felling of the Iron Curtain has also fed the area’s rebirth. Offenbach and the areas around it are now counted among the most prolific frum communities in Germany.

30-40 local families and dozens of students travel to Israel by plane for a kosher mikva. A local mikva will serve all 520 local families and Israeli tourists
